    Secure FTP (over SSH)

What is SFTP, and how do I use it?

SFTP is usually just a fallback if SCP is not supported nowadays. Even though Wikipedia says "Compared to the earlier SCP protocol, which allows only file transfers, the SFTP protocol allows for a range of operations on remote files – it is more like a remote file system protocol." ..hmmm

Under Windows you can use WinSCP as an SFTP client, too.
