== installation windows server 2008 on a ibm x345, modell 8670 == |
because there was an issue with the driver for the raid-controler, i |
had loads of tries until i found this way, that worked for me: |
1) boot the win2k8-server-install-dvd with an extern usb-dvd-drive |
(this takes a long time because this machine supports only usb 1.0) |
2) select "standard installation" |
3) delete all partitions and prepare new ones, then klick on "continue" |
4) some seconds after the installation has begun, press cancel/abort, |
the install programm will start again. |
now at the place where the partitions are shown, you have the opportunity to load |
a special driver |
5) on the cd IBM serverguide 7,4 you will find a driver designed for windows 2003 server, |
for the lsi 1030 raid-controller |
you will find it in that path: |
cdrom |
--- sguide |
----- w2003drv |
----- lsiscsi2 |
it is named: -- symmpi.sys |
'''!!!there is also a never driver version out in the world, and also a driver designed for win2k8,''' |
all of them did't work for me!!!! |
also that driver that you can find via lsi.com didn't work |
6) after selecting that driver, click "continue"; |
