My problems with linux clients for soulseek
I'm trying to get nicotine or museek to run properly on my Fedora Core 4, utf-8 based laptop. The downloads should be saved on an FAT32 usbdisk, mounted with utf8=yes, which in general works fine. But when I try to download anything with german umlauts or accents, i get an "local file error" in nicotine or just the message "failed" in museek". The same happens, if someone tries to download such files from me. I already tried to save the downloads in my ext3 homedirectory and switching the network- and filesystem-encodings in nicotine and museek from iso-8859-15 to utf-8 back and forth with no success.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Please don't tell me, that I have to change my system to iso-8859-15...please don't. ;)
