    ting

Explanation of the term ting as used for the ting-wiki.

Tings have been the councils of the old germanians and vikings.

The English word "thing" - as the "case" that was decided about by the ting - is originated there.

Tings were held in the open and on daytimes. The name of the German parliament "Bundestag" (Tag = day) relates to tings. Several scandinavian parliaments are still called tings - storting (no), folketing (dk).

The swedish wikipedia makes its decisions in a ting - sv.wikipedia: Tinget
