Here are a lot of sources for free images in the public domain. Use those when uploading pictures to us.
Avoid:
- uploading non-free pictures (image.google search without checking)
- direct linking to pictures on other servers (might be seen as "stealing bandwidth").
Enjoy:
- uploading free pictures (wikimedia.commons, public domain resources, russian search engines, images older than 50 years, etc.
- using the [[Image:filename.jpg|thumb|description]] thumbnail syntax for bigger images
- adding descriptions to the Special:Imagelist:Image pages
