The following is from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. There are 4 chapters or Padas and each have a 23rd verse or a sloka.
Pada 1 / (The Asana Pada) /Sloka 23: Kukkutasana (The cockrel pose) Assuming Padmasana insert the hands between the thighs and calves, planting them (the hands) firmly on the ground, raise the body in the air. This is kukkutasana.
Pada 2 / (Shatkarma and Pranayama Pada) /Sloka 23: The shatkarmas which effect purification of the body are secret. They have manifold, wonderous results and are held in high esteem by eminent yogis
Pada 3 / (Mudra and Bandha Pada) /Sloka 23: This (Maha bandha) stop the upward movement of energy in the nadis. Verily this maha bandha is the bestower of great gifts (siddhis)
Pada 3 / (The Samhadi Pada) / Sloka 23: Where the mind is stilled, the the prana is suspended there, and where prana is suspended, there the mind is still.
