What i heard about it, is that having all your amalgam fillings replaced by another material at once, would be more harmful than keeping them, because the process of removing them would set even more amalgam free in your mouth. shrug mutante 09:15, 21 December 2005 (CET)
- (-Kunda 14:40, 21 December 2005 (CET)) mutante, it wouldnt only set more free in your mouth but also go into your system. so there is some truth to what you heard, although, it seems like it is not "always better" to leave them in your teeth. The patient is not defenseless to the treatment, there are ways of detoxification, like chelation therapy and special cleanses that one can undertake to cleanse as best as possible heavy metal toxicity from their system. make no mistake, its a catch 22 when it comes to amalgams, the idea is to be informed. Maybe the amalgams are linked and contributing as to some sort of health issue that one has been battling for all their life? let say someone fell off their skateboard or was in a minor car accident and the physical injuries were superficial but suddenly they have all these odd and unrelated health issues start to occur and lets say they just might have to do with some sort of aggitation or catalyst that was caused by this alleged 'inert' material in their teeth. then its good to be aware that that just may be the cause, and if so, the option of removal is an option on the table. the decision exists. so the argument for leaving amalgams alone since the 'damage is already done' is making a person powerless to the decision they should have had before they were given amalgams in the first place + ignoring the counter-measures of detoxification that are getting better and better the more the mainstream becomes aware of this problem.
