Request for Comment : Page with all Templates[edit]

What about a page containing all existing Templates? And how do I search for existing Templates? .title Template doesn't work. Searching the Special:Recentchanges with Namespace = Template works! --cosmea 13:34, 21 February 2006 (CET)

    solution:

    --> see Mediawiki Namespaces

the toolbox and "top categories" contain "browse categories" and "all categories". imho we could remove "browse categories" from the toolbox. Finn

Request for Comment : Translation link[edit]

Suggestion, some sort of tiny link that allows to automatically translate a wiki page into another lang. utilizing google translate..or something. It can be located with the other links attached to the page itself..in other words..where 'article' 'discussion' 'edit' 'history' etc... are. With maybe some clientside Javascript that turns it into a pulldown menu to choose what lang to translate into

21:29 <+kunda> another cool thing would be like a automagical notify for a
certain user to link to the forum page
    21:29 <+kunda> like..say i wrote somehting on Forum
21:29 <+kunda> then send a message to x, y, z about this message via an anchor
link to it on their talk pages
21:30 <+kunda> but thats kind of fancy

< mutante> where is the place to add another link on top of every page, next to "article discussion edit history .." etc < brion_> somewheres in skintemplate.php i guess < mutante> danke < mutante> tries to add "translate" page using google language tools < mutante> heh, i find "function translate($value)" in there right away, but that is something different it seems
arr, buts it kind of hard to understand the code in there, working on it mutante 09:26, 28 October 2005 (CEST)

    Kunda replied: translate to de

mutante, cool it translated everything in this text box to german. there is some work involved i see: translating special chars &, %, and $ etc, finding where to edit it + it translates it as a Guest and not a Wiki User, will that be a problem? (it prob. wants cookie..bah)

Was thinking of editing the UI for entering text into the wiki. I use the monobook.css skin in the preferences with the fancy layout that has some JS buttons that append redundantly used HTML tags for example: http://s23.org/w/skins/common/images/button_bold.png http://s23.org/w/skins/common/images/button_italic.png http://s23.org/w/skins/common/images/button_link.png http://s23.org/w/skins/common/images/button_extlink.png http://s23.org/w/skins/common/images/button_headline.png
I was thinking about making my own preset ones with certain table tags or div tags. tried to grep it @ /var/www/w but dont have the appropriate permissions.

    Request for comment: Some issues[edit]

First off, wanna say that the wiki rocks. just throwing some stuff around to see if we can spiffy it up more, in a practical way.

    • Is there some way to tweek the wiki search engine, mutante, i know you were playing with some PHP concept of 'guessing' when it camed to search results. Im reffering to more effective wiki page titling searches. Are there others who feel the same way?
Will add an example when i come across a good one.
    • Making HowTo/Submit spam report and update blacklist page. While doing this I learned there are other special ways to combat spam/pagerank adding META headers. See, old spam attacks can still be 'spidered' by a search engine, via 'history' links.
    • Which brings up another point, i wonder how much hd space old spam in the history of some wiki pages is taking up. Is there a way to delete it without fuxoring up the wikidb in the process ?

    Hi Leute[edit]

Ich weis es nicht villeicht wird v?r Euch interessant? Ich finde das Geil )))

Und wenn es noch so geil wäre, über 111 Euro pro Stunde ist verdammt teuer. Und wieviel hättest du für den Referer gekriegt?
